If they ever re-manufacture a Ford Galaxie,
I would have to decide whether to buy one
or to simply, walk away. To keep the drive alive
takes devotion, ambition and resilience.
Things I don’t have.
Prices vary. My emotional attachments change
with Ground Hog Day and my frequent birthdays.
There are alternatives. One is to finance a new
model. The other is to hold out for one on line.
Time I don’t have.
Being reasonable, where would I put it? It would
sit in some garage for months until I got the urge.
I would know that it is there. Readily available.
This is a thought that I’ve kept in mind, all my life.
Things I don’t need to have.
I could go back to the seedy streets of my youth.
See for yourself what it was like to look out the
windshield of a black, Ford Galaxie in the winter.
‘Eleanor Rigby’ would be playing on the radio.
Time where I need to go.
